In visual art we have been learning about Maori Kowhaiwhai panels.
- We are learning to explain what some Maori symbols mean.
- We are learning incorporate Maori symbols into their art work in a creative and current manner.
- We are learning demonstrate effective use of techniques shown using a variety of materials
- We looked at different Maori patterns and symbols that we could use in our panels.
- We chose to use koru (new beginnings) patterns and whakairo patterns (a hammerhead shark - strength and power) on our Kowhaiwhai panels.
